Old Tucson movie studio was one of our first stops when moving to Arizona. The old studio was site for more than 400 film and television projects including 3:10 to Yuma (1957), Little House on the Prairie (1979-83), The Mark of Zorro (1974), Stagecoach (1986), Tombstone (1993) and Young Guns 2 (1990) to name a few.

So, as you can imagine we were excited to step into such an important part of film history. Before we had even arrived, the journey through saguaro filled mountains to get there was enough for us to believe we were already in a western. As we entered Old Tucson we were instantly transported into the old wild west. I only wished we had the costumes! The town was sparkling clean and boasts entertainment inside and out, which definitely helps in the Arizona heat. Entertainment includes a musical show, living history presentations, film history tours and an impressive stunt show.

While it’s fun for the kids with plenty of activities like panning for gold, ziplining, a carousel and mine adventure, there is also plenty to see and do for adult only parties including museums, drinking spots and horse trails. A majority of attractions are included in admission however some require a small additional fee.
The studio grounds itself is a good size, walking around will take up a lot of the day. There’s plenty of photo opportunities, a rodeo arena, an antique car display and a few small walking trails. While Old Tucson is currently limiting access due to Covid 19, so keep an eye out for updates! We definitely will be! Also keep an eye on their website for themed special events, film classes and more! Find out more here!
